Millcreek Retreat

Millcreek Retreat is located on the north bank of the Grand River, between Elora and Fergus. Our small Retreat rests on the ruins of an old grist mill, where the old willows and cedar trees are reclaiming their home, spiders weave their magic webs, great blue herons nest and the river water dances with the sun.  Here now, in these wild, revelatory times, we laugh and cry, dance and sing, grow roots and wings.

Aboyne Mill,  built in the 1880s, was an integral part of European settlements that brought trauma and transformation to these lands and the people who lived here.  This land is the traditional unceded territory of the Attawandaron (also known as the Neutral), Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee peoples.  The mill was built on the lands of the Haldimand Treaty of 1784, land promised to the Six Nations and included six miles on each side of the Grand River from Lake Erie to the head of the river.

The transformation we hold here in these times, is to recognize, reconcile, repair and release the suffering and violence of the past that we and the Earth hold in our bodies and to see through the illusion and delusions of separation that continues to shape how we listen and live with each other.  Together we remember how to  humble our minds, open our grateful hearts, listen to our wise bodies, reconnect with our inner compass and graceful guidance, honour the Spirits of the land and waters and let the River move us.

Still sending out our roots here

We are still establishing ourselves here, listening to the land and building our quarters so we can open our doors to overnight guests.

For now, Christie is welcoming clients for Energy Medicine with and Plant Medicine Sessions, in her Integral Energy practice.
